The BDE Pulse Team
Welcome to The BDE Pulse - your unauthorized, unfiltered, and occasionally unhinged source for all things pickleball. We're pickleball's rogue stepchild. Think of us as the court-side hecklers with keyboards, dishing out sharp commentary, spicy takes, and just enough truth to make you question why you ever trusted a Reddit paddle review written by someone named “PickleballMom72.”
We cover professional action, product reviews, and the ever-evolving absurdity of pickleball culture. If it’s weird, petty, or just plain hilarious - we’re on it.
This isn’t your grandma’s newsletter… unless your grandma swears like a sailor and pounds mid-day White Claws during rec play. Then yeah, it might be.
The BDE Pulse: where pickleball meets poor impulse control.

Johnny Roo
Tommy Eagle
Johnny Roo, aka "Pickleball's Boy Scout," is a seasoned pickleball player with a passion for mixed-doubles and rubbing Tom's face in the FACT that pickleball is the best sport ever created. Natural-born ATLien now living in southern Maine, Roo's also taken on the personal passion project of forcing Eagle to participate in weekly open-play at their local pickleball courts. So far, his efforts have been in vain. The natural next step is to document these efforts on a pickleball blog, and thus the BDE Pulse was born.
Eagle is not a well-known figure in the pickleball community, providing commentary and in-depth knowledge of the sport. Quite the opposite, in fact. He's an antagonist to the sport who's only actually played pickleball a few times. He’s also declared - repeatedly - that he could “master pickleball in 10 minutes” and “dunk on anyone.” But every villain needs a mic, and so, we gave him one.
Now this pickleball skeptic makes content for a pickleball company. Irony? Sure. Mistake? Probably. Entertaining? Absolutely.
